Atropos was one of the three fates her name means inevitable, she decided the length of life and point of death.  This is one of the reasons she is associated with being dark, that is a misunderstanding of the natural cycle.  There are many inevitable parts of the natural cycle; our children grow up and leave home, our priorities change, we are no longer teenagers, we are no longer children, we are responsible for another life, we all change.

Atropos in the chart shows how we cope with these inevitable changes; losing a parent, becoming a parent, children flying the nest, change of job, growing old.  We face many inevitable circumstances and we all have our different challenges in how we cope.
